Appointed director of TCF, he served from 1953 to 1956. He also served as economist, as well as a trustee from 1960 to 1967. Formerly a professor of industry at the University of  Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Chief of the Division of Economic Research, U.S. Department of Commerce.
